What is Micro Needling?

Simply put, microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment, where a medical device is used for the insertion of very fine needles into the skin, for the purposes of skin rejuvenation through the induction of newly formed collagen.

Microneedling uses your body’s own natural healing process to promote skin repair through the formation of new collagen which reduces the appearance of wrinkles, loss of skin volume, crepey skin and Acne scarring. This result is a thicker, more supple, cellular matrix and visibly younger looking skin.

Microneedling Collagen Induction therapy is clinically proven and is perhaps the most successful treatment available for the common signs and symptoms of aging.

PROOF: The image shows a biopsy of the epidermis before and after micro-needling therapy. Significant new collagen (dyed purple) has been generated, 6 weeks after a single treatment.

How Does Micro Needling Work?

The Micro Needles on the Dermaroller® hand piece cause minimally invasive precision micro-injuries of the epidermis and dermis, without causing open wounds or ablative damage. The puncturing channels close after a short time and these micro-injuries trigger the body’s wound healing cascade, which induces an increased collagen production in the treated skin. The construction of new tissue and healthy cell regeneration, reduces wrinkles, tightens and thickens the skin, and – perhaps most impressively – fills and smooths scars.

Will the be any downtime after Micro Needling treatments?

Most people will notice redness and a tight skin feeling similar to slight sunburn for 24-48 hours. We suggest you avoid any make up for the remainder of the day following the treatment, however any redness can easily be covered the next day with a mineral makeup. Using the provided hyaluronic acid after the procedure can help reduce inflammation.
